Oracle RAC Configuration
After you install the Oracle agent, by default Oracle and Oracle RAC databases and their associated cluster nodes are automatically discovered. This information is used to create and configure the corresponding clients and instances, with their related cluster nodes and subclients. For more information about automatic instance discovery, see Automatic Instance Discovery for Oracle and Oracle RAC Databases.
If you disable automatic discovery, configure the following on the CommCell Console:
- Add instances for each Oracle database you want to back up and restore.
- Add subclients for the instances. Subclients contain the data you want to back up and restore.
- Modify performance tuning parameters to help increase the efficiency of backups and restores.
