Corrupted Data Is Copied from the Source VM to the Destination VM

If corruption on the source VM is replicated to the destination VM, you can recover a point-in-time version of the source VM from older backups.

  1. Identify a point in time when the source VM was in a good state.
  2. Initiate an in-place restore of the source VM from backup history.
  3. Select the Unconditionally overwrite VM with the same name option during the restore.
  4. After the restore is completed, perform a backup of the source VM.

After the backup of the source VM, the next scheduled replication job replicates the changes to the destination VM, and the source and destination VMs will be in sync and usable.
