Configuring a User for Amazon
You can use the sAmazonArray additional setting to override the default array name, AWS-DefaultUseIAMRoleArray, that is used to associate snapshots to the Amazon account through the IAM role assigned to EC2 instances.
Make sure that the IAM role has the permission to create Amazon EBS volume snapshots requirements. See Amazon Web Services Permission Usage.
You need this additional setting in the following cases:
- For SP18 clients
- For authentication with access key and secret key
From Feature Release 11.19, if an Amazon EC2 instance has the IAM role assigned, then you do not need to set the additional setting sAmazonArray in the Commvault software.
- To the client computer, add the additional setting as shown in the following table.
For instructions about adding additional settings from the CommCell Console, see Adding or Modifying Additional Settings from the CommCell Console.
Use this additional setting to specify the Amazon array Name as it appears under Array Management for the AWS user, to perform IntelliSnap operations using Amazon Snap Engine.
