Long Running Jobs Report

The Long Running Jobs Report provides a list of the longest running jobs based on the jobs that ran for more than the specified amount of time on each client over the specified time period. Aged jobs and active jobs can be included or excluded.

Running the Report

  1. Open the command prompt and navigate to the <software installation path>\Base> folder.
  2. Enter qlogin, and then enter your user name and password.
  3. Run the following command:

    qoperation execscript -sn QS_LongRunJobs -si @LastDays='<number of days>' -si @LongRunHours='<number of hours>' -si @TopN='<number of jobs>' –si @BackupType= '<type of backup jobs>' –si @ActiveJobsOnly=’<include or exclude active jobs>’ –si @CountAgedJobs=’<include or excluded aged jobs>’ -format 'csv' –file '<output location and filename>'

    The report is saved in the location that you specified.

Example

To see the longest running jobs in the CommServe, based on the 20 largest full backup jobs that ran for at least 12 hours, over the last 31 days, with active and aged jobs excluded, run the following command:

qoperation execscript -sn QS_LongRunJobs -si @LastDays='31' -si @LongRunHours='12' -si @TopN='20' –si @BackupType=’Full’ –si @ActiveJobsOnly=’0’ –si @CountAgedJobs=’0’ -format 'csv' –file 'C:\Reports\sample.csv'

Usage and Help

  1. Open the command prompt and navigate to the <software installation path>\Base> folder.

Parameters

The report script includes several parameters that you can set, according to your information needs. Parameters for the Long Running Jobs Report include the following:

Numeric value. Specifies the maximum number of jobs from each client to include in the report information.

Text only. Specifies the types of backups that appear in the report information. Options include the following:

  • Full
  • Synthetic Full
  • Incremental (includes Differential and Log backup types)

This switch includes or excludes active jobs. Options include the following:

  • Include: 1
  • Exclude: 0

CountAgedJobs

This switch includes or excludes aged jobs. Options include the following:

  • Include: 1
  • Exclude: 0

Text only. Specifies the file format in which the report saves. Options include the following:

  • CSV
