Create Hadoop Client (General) - Online Help

Use this dialog box to enter information about the Hadoop pseudo-client.

Client Name

Enter the name of the Hadoop pseudo-client. A Hadoop pseudo-client is a logical entity that represents one or more Hadoop clusters.

Instance Name

Enter the name of the Hadoop instance. An instance represents a Hadoop cluster. A default subclient is created under the instance.

HDFS URI

Enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the Hadoop NameNode.

HDFS User

Enter the Hadoop user name, if a non-root user account is used to manage the Hadoop cluster.

Hadoop Native Library Path

The path to the Hadoop native library (libhdfs.so).

Syntax:

/path_containing_hadoop_install_directory_native_folder

Example:

/usr/hadoop-2.6.1/lib/native

JVM Library Path

The path to the JVM library (libjvm.so).

Syntax:

/path_containing_jvm_jre_folder

Example:

/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.45.x86_64/jre/lib/amd64/server

Description

Use this field to enter a description about the entity. This description can include information about the entity's content, cautionary notes, etc.

Client Name

Enter the name of the Hadoop pseudo-client.  A Hadoop pseudo-client is a logical entity that represents one or more Hadoop clusters.

Save As Script

Click to open the Save As Script dialog box, which allows you to save this operation and the selected options as a script file (in XML format). The script can later be run from the Command Line Interface using qoperation execute command.

When you save an operation as a script, each option in the dialog box has a corresponding XML element in the script file. When you run the script, you can modify the value in any of these XML elements.
