You can use the Commvault software to protect the following Salesforce data.
- Standard objects
- Custom objects
- Salesforce CRM content
- Salesforce files
- Salesforce metadata
Note: Default backups do not include the metadata. For information on how to back up metadata, see Backing Up Salesforce Metadata.
Salesforce administrators can perform record-level restores, or object-level restores to one of the following destinations:
- A file system
- A SQL server
- The Salesforce Cloud
A record-level restore restores the selected records of the selected object.
An object-level restore restores all records for the selected object.
- Restore Salesforce records to a file system, SQL Server or to the Salesforce Cloud.
- View all versions of a Salesforce object record.
Use the Commvault Cloud Connector to connect with Salesforce. You can use an optional MSSQL database to use as the backup location or the restore destination.
The Commvault software uses the following Salesforce interfaces:
- REST API
- SOAP API
- Bulk API
