Backup Schedule Options for Database Plans

The following options are available for schedules on Database Plans. Schedules determine when backup jobs run.

Backup level

  • Incremental: Backs up the portion of the data that is new or that has changed since the last backup.
  • Full: Backs up all data.
  • Synthetic Full: Creates a full backup from existing backup data. The Synthetic Full backup consolidates the backup data instead of backing up data.

Frequency

  • Daily

    Runs the backup job on a daily basis. Choose the start time. Under Repeat, you can set the following:

    • Every: The number of days between each backup job.
    • Repeat Every: The number of hours and minutes between each backup job.
    • until: If Repeat Every is defines, the end time for repeating the backup job.
    • Exceptions: Defines the days of the month to exclude from the schedule. For example, you can excludes the third Sunday of the month from the schedule.
  • Weekly

    Runs the backup job on a weekly basis. Choose the start time and the days of the week. Under Repeat, you can set the following:

    • Every: The number of weeks between each backup job.
    • Repeat Every: The number of hours and minutes between each backup job.
    • until: If Repeat Every is defines, the end time for repeating the backup job.
    • Exceptions: Defines the days of the month to exclude from the schedule. For example, you can excludes the third Sunday of the month from the schedule.
  • Monthly

    Runs a job on a monthly basis. Choose the start time and the day of the month. Under Repeat, you can set the following:

    • Every: The number of months between each backup job.
    • Repeat Every: The number of hours and minutes between each backup job.
    • until: If Repeat Every is defines, the end time for repeating the backup job.
    • Exceptions: Defines the days of the month to exclude from the schedule. For example, you can excludes the third Sunday of the month from the schedule.
