Comparing Salesforce Objects in an MSP Environment

You can view the changes that were made to Salesforce objects. When you perform a data comparison, the Commvault software uses the versions that are stored in the catalog database.

You can perform a data comparison on a single organization or instance

Before You Begin

Have a full backup and an incremental backup. For more information, see Performing a Salesforce backup.


  1. From the navigation pane, click Solutions > Apps >Cloud Apps. Then, in the Actions column for the Salesforce organization, click the action button action_button, and then click Compare.

    The Select Compare Type dialog box appears.

  2. Select Object compare.

    The Backup Content page appears.

  3. Beside the data that you want to compare, select the check box., and then click Compare.

    The Compare options dialog box appears

  4. In the Source date and Date to compare boxes, select the dates for the backups that you want to compare, and then click Compare.

    The Object compare summary page appears.

    A row for each object lists the objects that were added, modified, and deleted.

  5. To get additional information about the object changes, in the column for Added, Modified or Deleted, click on the number.

    The Added, Deleted, or Modified record page appears and displays a row for each record change.
