Enabling Auto-discover of Mailboxes

To discover mailboxes automatically, enable auto-discovery on the Exchange Online client. After you enable auto-discovery, when a backup operation runs for one of the mailboxes, users groups are auto-discovered and included in the backup.


  1. From the navigation pane, click Solutions >Office 365.

    The list of all Exchange clients appears.

  2. Click the Exchange Client and then click Auto Discover Associations.

    The list of all the user groups appears.

  3. Select the group where you want to enable auto-discovery and then click Manage.

    The Edit Association dialog box appears.

  4. In the Exchange Plan section, select an exchange mailbox plan.
  5. Click Save.
