Changing the Amount of Free Space in the Cache for Block-Level Restores for Exchange Databases
The amount of cache space that you need to recover messages from a block-level backup depends on how much data changed or increased since the last backup. Therefore, your cache space requirements vary from backup to backup.
By default, extents that have not changed between backups are pruned so that five percent of the disk space remains free. If the MediaAgent is very busy, you can increase the percentage of free space that is available in the cache by adding the n3dfsCacheMinFree additional setting, and changing the value to a higher percentage.
- On the MediaAgent computer, add the n3dfsCacheMinFree additional setting as shown in the following table.
