Can I reuse a deleted ShadowImage pair?

Yes, you can reuse a deleted ShadowImage pair.

How is the device pool for COW on HUS selected?

For production volume (P-VOL) devices, the first copy-on-write (COW) pair determines the selection of the device pool. The pool ID for the first COW pair is used for all other COW pairs that are created using the same P-VOL. Even if you manually specify another pool ID for the pair, the pool ID of the first COW pair is used.

Why are S-VOL devices labeled BLANK after deleting a pair?

The Raidcom command doesn’t provide an option to rename an logical device (LDEV) with no name. If a job picks an S-VOL device with no name, the S-VOL device is renamed as “BLANK” when the job is aged and snapshots are deleted.
