Add Disk Library

Use this dialog box to add a disk library to a selected MediaAgent.

Alias

Enter a descriptive name for the disk library. This alias is displayed in the CommCell Browser for the disk library. (optional)

Unique ID

A unique identifier assigned by the system within the CommCell for the disk library.

Note that a unique ID is initially not assigned. The system assigns a unique ID for the library as soon as you save the details.

Automatically create storage policy for new Datapaths

Indicates whether the system must automatically create a new storage policy when a mount path is added subsequently.

Enable Replication

Indicates whether the system must automatically create a new replication pair and a replication set when a mount path is added subsequently. This option is applicable only for disk libraries on replicated disks.

Add Sharing Folder

Use this dialog box to add a shared network folder.

Device Name

A unique device name generated by the system for the network folder.

MediaAgent

The name of the MediaAgent that will access the network folder.

Windows Sharing Folder

  • Local Path

    Click to select a local path as the mount path for the MediaAgent.

    Folder

    The local path that will be used by the MediaAgent to access the mount path, when the MediaAgent is a Windows MediaAgent. (Use the browse button to access the Browse for Mount Path dialog box which allows you to select the network path.)

  • Network Path

    Click to select a network path as the mount path for the MediaAgent.

    Connect As

    The user name that must be used by the MediaAgent to access the network path.

    Password

    The password for the specified user name.

    Verify Password

    Confirmation of the password for the specified user name

    Folder

    The network path that will be used by the MediaAgent to access the mount path, when the MediaAgent is a Windows MediaAgent. (Use the browse button to access the Browse for Mount Path dialog box which allows you to select the network path.)

Preferred

When selected, this device controller will have the high priority for both backup and pruning jobs.

Read Only

Applies to mount paths configured on replicated disks. When selected, indicates that the network path is used for read-only purposes.

Add Automated Mount Path

Use this dialog box to add a disk library with automated mount path.

MediaAgent

Select the name of the MediaAgent that will control the library.

Folder

The name of the folder in which the library must be created in the specified mount path.

Configure for all other selected Windows MediaAgents

Select this option to configure the library to all selected MediaAgents.

  • Connect As

    The user name that will be used by the system to access the mount path.

  • Password

    The password for the specified user name.

  • Verify Password

    Confirmation of the password for the specified user name.

  • Folder

    The network mount path of the disk storage area in which the data will be stored. Click the (...) button to access to the Browse for Mount Path dialog box which allows you to establish a local path in the MediaAgent computer.

    Note: When a mount path is created using UNC paths, verify and ensure that the user account used to access the mount path has sufficient permissions to read / write in the software install folder in the computer in which the MediaAgent associated with mount path is installed. This is because the MediaAgent uses these folders to create the necessary log entries in the log files for jobs associated with the mount path.

Change Host

Use this dialog box to select a different MediaAgent for the device.

MediaAgent

Specifies the name of the MediaAgent to which the device is attached. To change, select the name of a MediaAgent from the list. The list contains the names of all MediaAgents configured in the CommCell.

Disk Volume Properties

Use this dialog box to view the properties of a disk volume.

Device Name

The name of the disk device to which the volume is attached.

Volume

The unique volume ID assigned by the Operating System to the volume.

MediaAgent

The name of the MediaAgent controlling the volume.

Mount Points

A list of drive letters or path (relative to the selected host) on which the volume is mounted.
