Deleting a SAP HANA Backup Set Using the Commvault Command Line Interface

Use XML to delete a SAP HANA backup set.

  1. If you are not logged on to the CommServe computer, run the qlogin command.
  2. Download the del_backupset.xml file to the computer where you will run the command.
  3. On the command line, go to Software_Installation_Directory/Base, and then and type the following command:

    qoperation execute -af del_backupset.xml -entity/appName 'SAP HANA' -entity/clientName '<client_name>' -entity/instanceName '<instance_name>' -entity/backupsetName '<backup_set_name>'

You can define the XML parameters in the xml file, instead of on the command line. For information on command line parameters and XML elements, see Command Line - Syntax.

  4. To log off the CommServe computer, run the qlogout command.

Delete the backup set that is named H02. In this example the parameters are on the command line.

qoperation execute af del_backupset.xml -entity/appName 'SAP HANA' -entity/clientName 'hana06_H01' -entity/instanceName 'H01' -entity/backupsetName 'H02'
