Recovery from the Loss of the Operating System or Deduplication Database Disk

Following are the high-level processes required to run the disaster recovery operation when the operating system or the deduplication database disk from the Commvault Appliance becomes inoperable or inaccessible.

  1. Procure new disk from your appliance vendor and attach it to the server.
  2. Configure RAID LUNs for the new disk.

  3. Configure the bootable USB drive to reimage the Commvault Appliance A600.

  4. Reimage the Commvault Appliance A600.

    For more information, see Reimaging the Commvault Appliance A600.

  5. Configure the IP addresses for the management ports to establish communication between the server where the CommServe and the MediaAgent are installed and the storage enclosures.

  6. Depending on your requirement, install the Commvault Appliance A600 with the CommServe and the MediaAgent or with MediaAgent only.
