Installing Additional Data Protection Agents
You can install additional client agents for your enterprise specific data protection requirements. You can use the console-based install capability through which software can be quickly and efficiently pushed to other client computers.
Client agents are software modules that perform data protection and data recovery operations for specific operating systems or applications.
Before You Begin
Ensure that installation and configuration of the Commvault Appliance A600 is complete as described in Installing the CommServe and MediaAgent on the Commvault Appliance A600 or Installing the MediaAgent on Commvault Appliance A600.
- From the Windows Start menu, click All Programs.
- From the list of programs, click Commvault > Commvault CommCell Console.
- On the ribbon in the CommCell Console, click the Tools tab, click the arrow next to the Add/Remove Software icon and then click Install Software.
The Install Wizard window appears. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
When the installation job starts, you can track the progress of the job from the Job Controller window.
- To open the window, click the Home tab from the CommCell Console ribbon, and then click Job Controller.

After the client agents are installed, you must configure the agents to run back ups and restores.
