Restructuring Data Cube Sources with Search Views

Search views enable you to view the data in your Data Cube sources in a user-friendly interface. From search views, you can search, filter, sort, and create facets for data sources and create multiple different views to suit different needs.

Before You Begin

Editing the Default Search View

The default search view contains all of the data included in a data source. If you edit the default search view, you must save your changes as a new search view.

  1. In a Web browser, log in to the Web Console and then click Analytics.
  2. Click the data source heading of the source you want to view.
  3. On the Data Sources page, in the box of the data source that you want to search, click Search in the lower-right corner.
  4. Under View Name, click the view you want to use. (To create a new search view, see Creating Search Views for Data Connections.)
  5. To restructure the search view, click Column Settings and click the name of the column you want to edit.
  6. In the Column Settings - Column Name box, select from the available options.
    • To change the name of a column, change the Display Name field.
    • To apply formatting to a column, click the Formatter list and select an option. See Formatter Options.
    • To show or hide a column from the search view, toggle the Visibility slider.

To apply your changes, click Apply.

  7. Optional: To add new search facets and filter the data by categories:
    1. Click Add Filter and select one or more filter options.

The selected options appear as search facets to the left of the results list.

    2. Select one or more options in the facet categories to filter the data in the search results list.
  8. Save your search view:
    • If you are editing an existing custom search view, click Save View Settings to save your search and filter settings.
    • If you are editing the default search view, click Save As to save and name your custom search view.
