Connecting to Edge Drive Using WebDAV

Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) is an extension of HTTP protocol that enables client applications to query, create and modify remote web content in a server.

Using WebDAV, you can access your Edge Drive from any WebDAV supported client applications. For example, using the windows explorer WebDAV client program, you can access Edge Drive as a mapped network drive without having to install the Edge Monitor application on the client computer.

Before You Begin

Obtain the URL for WebDAV access from your administrator.

You can access your Edge Drive from other WebDAV enabled applications by providing the server URL in the following format:

http://Web Console_host_name:port/proxysvc/edgedrivedav

For example, to connect to your Edge Drive from Windows or Macintosh computers, complete the following steps:

On Windows computer

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. On the left pane, right-click Computers, and then select Map Network Drive.
  3. In the Folder box, type the URL for WebDAV access, and then click Finish.

On Macintosh computer:

  1. Open Mac Finder.
  2. On the Go menu, click Connect to Server.
  3. In the Server Address box, type the URL for WebDAV access, and then click Connect.
