File System End-User Erase - Overview for Administrators
The File System End-User Erase feature lets users erase their backed-up or archived files through the Web Console.
With this feature, users can erase unwanted or old files, and reuse their backup quota for new backups.
Users can see their effective quota under Disk usage in the Web Console. That usage indication is reduced immediately upon erasing files, by the size of the files erased.
File System Agents Supported
File System iDataAgent types supported by File System End-User Erase include Microsoft Windows, Unix/Linux and Macintosh. See Erase Backup and Archived Data - Support for details.
Important: The File System End-User Erase feature is supported in V11 only for new client computers or upgraded clients that have converted to indexing version 2. This feature is not supported for clients using previous versions of the software or indexing version 1. For more information about indexing version 2, see Indexing Version 2: Overview.
