Configuring the Commvault Token App

You can use the Commvault Token app to generate the unique six-digit PIN that is required when Two-Factor Authentication is enabled.

Installing the Application

Install Commvault Token on your Android device.

Before You Begin

Verify that your Android device is running version 2.2 (Froyo) or higher.


  1. Go to the Google Play store.

    Tip: Use your Android device to scan the following QR code:

  2. In the Search box, type Commvault Token, and then click the search icon.
  3. Install the application.

    Once installed, the application appears in your home screen.

Registering an Account

To register, enter your CommCell account and your secret key into the application.

Note: You can have more than one CommCell account registered with the application. Each account needs its own secret key.

Before You Begin

You must have a secret key. For information on obtaining a secret key, see Two-Factor Authentication - Obtaining a Secret Key.


  1. From your Android device, open the Commvault Token app.
  2. Tap +Add and enter the following details:
    • On the User Name line, enter your CommCell user name.
    • On the CommServe URL line, enter the CommCell URL address, for example:


    • On the Secret line, enter the secret key provided in the email.
  3. Tap Submit.

Once you have registered an account, you are redirected to the home screen where you can see:

  • The PIN and your CommCell account.
  • The time remaining before the PIN expires. PINs are valid for 30 seconds.
