Associating Mailboxes with the Exchange Mailbox Agent User Mailbox Subclient

You must associate mailboxes with the subclient.

Before You Begin

Create the Exchange policies.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Console, expand Client Computers > client > agent > User Mailbox.
  2. At the bottom of the right pane, click the Mailboxes tab.
  3. Associate mailboxes with the subclient.
    Group Type Procedure
    Individual mailboxes
    1. From the CommCell Console, right-click within the right pane, and then click New Association > User.

      The Create New Association dialog box appears.

    2. Click Configure.

      The Configure Mailboxes dialog box appears.

    3. Click Discover.

      A message appears that asks you if you want to continue.

    4. Click Yes.

      A list of available mailboxes appears. If a mailbox is already associated with the subclient, it appears in a gray, italic font.

    5. Select all the required mailboxes, and then click OK.

      The selected mailboxes appear in the list on the Content tab.

    Mailboxes in databases
    1. From the CommCell Console, right-click within the right pane, and then click New Association > Database.

      The Create New Association dialog box appears.

    2. Click Configure.

      The Configure Databases dialog box appears.

    3. Click Discover.

      A message appears that asks you if you want to continue.

    4. Click Yes.

      A list of available databases appears. If a database is already associated with the subclient, it appears in a gray, italic font.

    5. Select all the required databases, and then click OK.
    6. If you want mailboxes that are added to the databases later to be added to the subclient automatically, select the Enable Auto-Discover check box.
    Mailboxes in Active Directory groups
    1. From the CommCell Console, right-click within the right pane, and then click New Association > AD Groups.

      The Create New Association dialog box appears.

    2. Click Configure.

      The Configure AD Groups dialog box appears.

    3. Click Discover.

      A message appears that asks you if you want to continue.

    4. Click Yes.

      A list of available Active Directory Groups appears. If a group is already associated with the subclient, is appears in a gray, italic font.

    5. Select all the required groups, and then click OK.
    6. If you want mailboxes that are added to the groups later to be added to the subclient automatically, select the Enable Auto-Discover check box.
  4. Click the Policies tab.
  5. Select the Exchange policies that will be applied to all of the mailboxes within the subclient.
  6. Click OK.

    All the mailboxes that you associated with the subclient appear in the right pane.

Where to Go Next

If you enabled autodiscovery, the corresponding databases and Active Directory groups appear on the Auto Discovered Association tab in the lower portion of the right pane. You can manage those group types from that tab.

After you associate mailboxes with the subclient, you can assign or change the Exchange policies at the mailbox, database, or AD group level.
