Oracle Table Restores
Restore Oracle tables when you need to recover tables that have been logically corrupted or lost or after the table structure was modified.
You can restore the database tables from an online full backup, if the table browse option was enabled in the associated subclient before performing the backup.
When you restore database tables, the Commvault software automatically creates an auxiliary instance. For the restore to succeed, the host must have enough free disk space for the auxiliary instance for the restore to succeed.
You can configure the Commvault to perform a schema-level restore when a user selects all the tables in a schema. For information on configuring this option, see Configuring Oracle Schema-Level Restores.
When you perform a table level restore, the software creates a log file called restore.out in the job results directory that provides the details for the job. By default the directory is: /opt/Commvault/iDataAgent/jobResults/CV_JobResults/2/0/<jobid>.
Note: If you use Oracle 12c, you can only perform this procedure on non-Container Databases (CDB).
Best Practice: Include the parent tables with all dependent tables so that the reference constraints remain intact.
