Case Summary Information

The following information is available in the case summary. Each option will only be visible if it was selected during the creation of the case.

  • Name

    The name given to the case.

  • Notes

    The description of the case.

  • Create a legal copy

    Indicates whether the Create a legal copy option was selected for the case. If the value is true, then the data in the case is copied from the backup source to a reference copy client and retained until the cased is closed and deleted. If the value is false, then the data in the case is collected directly from the backup source and the data is retained indefinitely until the case is closed or the asset is removed from the case. When the case is closed, the retention for case data will revert to the settings of the storage policy associated to the backup source.

  • Storage Policy

    The storage policy that is used to define the backup media for the case data.

  • Retain For

    The retention configuration for the reference copy associated to the case. When Create legal copy is selected, the value is indefinite. When Create legal copy is not selected, the value is N/A because there is no reference copy created for the case data.

  • Repeat Schedule

    When schedule is enabled, the type of schedule selected for backing up the data in a case, either Daily or Weekly.

  • Start Schedule at

    When schedule is enabled, the scheduled backups of case data will begin.

  • Created by

    The user who created the case.

  • Creation time

    The date and time when the case was initially created.

  • Modified Time

    The date and time when the case was last modified by any of the case reviewers.

  • Custodians

    The users who own the data being collected in the case. Hover over Show Assets to display the clients that are associated to the case for a particular custodian.

  • Holds

    Lists the clients grouped by the types of data that are being collected in the case.

    • Desktops/Laptops

      The desktop or laptop clients in the case.

    • Mailbox

      The mailbox clients in the case.

    • Journal Hold

      The journal mailbox clients in the case.

    • File Server

      The file server clients in the case.

  • Filter Criteria

    The types of filters that are being applied to the case data.

  • Reviewers

    • Users
    • The compliance officer users who have been added as reviewers to the case. The reviewers can view, edit, search, and close a case.

  • Hold status details

    • Holds

      The type of data that is being collected in the case.

    • Content indexed until

      The time when the last content indexing job was performed on the data in the case.

    • Caught up until

      The time when the last backup job was performed on the data in the case.

    • Total items

      The total number of items (files or emails) that have been backed up and content indexed in the case, which are available for searches.
