You can use the guided setup wizard to create a replication group for the first time.
You can access the guided setup for replication only once. After you create a replication group using the guided setup, the guided setup is no longer available.
Before You Begin
To use Distributed Storage datastores as destination sites for replication, you must set up Distributed Storage clusters as storage targets. For instructions, see Configuring Distributed Storage for DR.
Review the configuration options for the source and destination hypervisors, including options for adding a hypervisor, adding a recovery target, and configuring a replication group.
Procedure
From the navigation pane, go to Guided setup.
The Welcome page appears.
On the Disaster recovery tab, click Replication.
The Configure replication group wizard appears.
On the Content tab, beside Source hypervisor, click Create new, and then configure the source hypervisor settings in the Add hypervisor dialog box.
On the Target tab, beside Recovery target, click Create new, configure the destination server settings in the Add recovery target dialog box, and then click Next.
On the Storage/Cache tab, enter the required information for the storage pool, and then click Next.
On the Override options tab, either continue to the Summary tab or configure override options.
To change the destination settings for specific VMs, on the Override options tab, move the Override virtual machines toggle key to the right.
From the Replication configuration list, select the VMs, and then click Edit.
Under General Settings, Network settings, and IP address settings, configure the options you want to change.
To finish creating the replication group, click Next.
On the Summary tab, review the settings you configured, and then click Finish.
