Creating a New Credential to Access a Network Drive

You can create a credential to access a network drive that you want to assign as a backup location to a disk storage. You can also specify a user or a member of a user group who can modify the credential information, such as the credential password and the security permissions. The owner can also assign a new credential owner.

Procedure

  1. Access the backup location / disk access path using one of the following methods:

  2. Click Network to use a network drive as the disk access path.

  3. Move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right.

  4. Click the + sign to create new credentials to access a network drive.

    The Add credential dialog box appears.

  5. Enter the following information:

    • In the Credential name box, enter a name for the credential.

    • In the User name and Password boxes, type the credentials for a user who has write access to the network device.

  6. Click Save.
