Performing an Archive Operation

When you run an archive operation, the files that meet the archiving rules are stubbed.

Caution

For Hadoop (HDFS), the files that meet the archiving rules are backed up and deleted.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Archiving.

    The File servers page appears.

  2. Click the file server.

    The file server properties page appears.

  3. Under Subclients, in the Actions column for the subclient, click the action button action_button, and then click Archive.

    The Select archive level dialog box appears.

  4. Optional: To receive an Email when the backup operation completes, select the When the job completes, notify me via email check box.

    Archive operations are always incremental. The first archive operation always runs a full archive operation.

  5. Click OK.
