Adding an Access Node to NAS Client

Add an access node for the NAS client. You can add an access node at the protocol level or at the subclient level. An access node defined at the subclient level will take precedence.

Before You Begin

Ensure that your access node meets hardware specifications to back up the CIFS shares and NFS exports. For more information, see Hardware Specifications for Access Nodes.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

    The file servers Overview page appears.

  2. On the File Servers tab, click the NAS file server.

    The file server page appears.

  3. Under Protocols, click CIFS or NFS.

    The protocol page appears.

  4. Do either of the following:

    1. Add an access node at the protocol level
      1. Click on the Configuration tab.

      2. On the Access nodes tile, click the Pencil icon.

      3. In the Edit access nodes window, select the access nodes from the list.

        Note

        After you select an access node, you can click Equivalent API and download or copy the JSON payload that you can use for REST API POST requests.

      4. Click Save.

    2. Add an access node at the subclient level
      1. Click on the Subclients tab.

      2. Click on the subclient.

      3. In the Overview tab, On the Access nodes tile, click the Pencil icon.

      4. In the Edit access nodes window, select the access nodes from the list.

        Note

        After you select an access node, you can click Equivalent API and download or copy the JSON payload that you can use for REST API POST requests.

      5. Click Save.
