If you have a single node replica set that has only a primary node, add the bMongoDBEnableBkpForSingleNodeRepSet additional setting to the client node that you want to back up.

When you have a new secondary node added to a single node replica set that has only a primary node, run a new full backup.

Disaster recovery (DR) Backups

Administrative shares are no longer allowed to be configured as an export location for DR Backups, as they pose a security vulnerability.

Commvault Platform Release 2023

Job Management

For a selective copy, the Commvault software automatically picks incremental jobs following a full backup job from a source copy when fulls are committed. When picking incremental jobs following a committed full/selective full job, the software stops once a successfully completed incremental job is found.

For an extended retention, the Commvault software allows you to keep incrementals following a full backup jobs from a source copy when fulls are committed or synthetic fulls complete with errors.

Commvault Platform Release 2023

Log files

When you upgrade to Commvault Platform Release 2023, the string adminConsole in the name of any log file located in the <software_install_path>/Log Files folder, is replaced with the string CommandCenter.

The name of the active log file adminConsole.log is changed to CommandCenter.log.

Additionally, all old log file names are updated. For example, if an old log file adminConsole_2022_07_04_13_18_16.log.zip exists, then it is renamed to CommandCenter_2022_07_04_13_18_16.log.zip.

Cloud Storage

When you configure a new Google Cloud Storage using OAuth 2.0 as a storage target from the CommCell, you must now use a JSON file for service account authentication.

Google Cloud Storage using OAuth 2.0 service account that were configured prior to Commvault Platform Release 2022E use the P12 private key for service account authentication. Once you upgrade to Commvault Platform Release 2022E, we recommend you to edit the existing Google Cloud Storage using OAuth 2.0 to use the JSON file for service account authentication.

Also, we recommend you to:

  • use service account to edit the cloud access path of the Google Cloud Storage associated with MediaAgent version SP30 or higher.

  • use secret and access key to edit the cloud access path of the Google Cloud Storage associated with MediaAgent version SP28.
