Applies to: Microsoft Office files
You can use prefixes to focus a search on specific metadata fields. For example, you can use a prefix to search for files created by a specific author.
You can use the following prefixes in searches:
-
Author_s
-
creator_s
-
CreationDate_s
-
LastAuthor_s
-
LastModified_s
To use a prefix, in the search box, type the term using prefix:search_value as the format. If you use multiple terms for the search value, surround the terms with quotation marks.
The following are examples of how to use prefixes in a search:
-
LastModified_s:7/9/2019
-
Author_s:"J Smith"
-
LastAuthor_s:Smith
