Configuring the Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON Storage Array Using Array Management

Applies to: Dell EMC VNX and Dell EMC CLARiiON

For IntelliSnap backups from Commvault software, add the Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON storage array and its configuration information to the CommServe database.

Before You Begin

Ensure that the client and proxy computers have access to the storage array.

Procedure

1. On the ribbon in the CommCell Console, click the Storage tab, and then click Array Management.

   The Array Management dialog box appears.

2. Click Add.

   The Array Properties dialog box appears.

3. On the General tab, specify the following information:

   1. From the Snap Vendor list, select Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON.

   2. In the Name box, enter the serial number of the array.

   3. In the Control Host box, enter the serial number of the array.

   4. In the Credentials area, click Change.

      The Enter the User Name and Password dialog box appears.

   5. Type the credentials of a user who has the rights to access the array, and then click OK.

4. To configure additional MediaAgents to perform operations on the storage array, click the Array Access Nodes tab, and then select configuration options.

5. On the Snap Configuration tab, configure the snapshot configuration properties for your environment or use the default values.

6. Click OK.
