You can back up information about global objects (such as roles) in a PostgreSQL database. To back up global objects, the Commvault software uses the pg_dumpall utility with -c and -s options.
It is supported only for PostgreSQL agents with indexing enabled. For PostgreSQL agents, this is enabled by default for newly installed clients in Feature Release 11.30 and more recent versions.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers > client > PostgreSQL > instance.
-
Right-click the DumpBasedBackupSet, and then click Properties. The Backup Set Properties dialog box appears.
-
Select the Backup global objects check box.
-
Click OK.
