Pre-processes and post-processes can be configured for Data Protection, Data Recovery and Data Replication operations.
Use the following steps to set up pre-processes and post-processes around the backup phase.
Before You Begin
Create a batch file for Windows computers or a shell script for Unix computers. For example, you can create a batch file or shell script to create or change a file or folder, or log the level of a backup.
Procedure
- 
From the CommCell Browser, go to the backup set that you want to configure a pre- or post-process for. Note Not all subclients support pre- and post-processes. For more information, see Pre-processes and Post-processes - Support.

In the backup set tab in the right pane, right-click the subclient, then click Properties. The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

Click Advanced. The Advanced Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

On the Pre/Post Process tab, configure the pre-processes and post-processes: - 
Enter the path to the batch file in the PreBackup process box.

Enter the path to the batch file in the PostBackup process box.

Click OK.

In the backup set tab in the right pane, right-click the subclient and click Backup. The Backup Options dialog box appears.

Select Full as the backup type and Immediate to run the job immediately. 
- 
Click OK.
