Perform a Test Backup and Restore of the Google Cloud BigQuery

To verify that the Google Cloud BigQuery instance is set up correctly, perform a test backup and restore.

Back Up the Instance

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Databases page appears.

2. On the Instances tab, in the instance row, click the action button , and then click Backup.

   The Backup dialog box appears.

3. Select a table group to back up, and then click Select.

   The Backup options dialog box appears.

4. Select Full, and then click Submit.

Restore the Instance

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Databases page appears.

2. On the Instances tab, in the instance row, click the action button , and then click Restore.

   The Backup content page appears.

3. Select one or multiple datasets and then click Restore.

   The Restore options dialog box appears.

4. You can select the following restore options:

   • In place

   • Out of place

   Note

   In place restore is selected by default.

5. Click Submit.
