Add a NAS File Server for Amazon EFS Backups

You must add a NAS client to protect the NFS volume for Amazon EFS.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

  2. On the Files tab, in the upper-right area of the page, click Add server.

  3. Select NAS.

  4. Click Next.

  5. In the Name box, enter a name for the NAS server.

  6. From the Vendor type list, select Generic.

  7. In the Host name box, enter a host name or fully qualified domain name for the NAS server.

  8. Click Next.

    Select an existing backup plan or create a new backup plan.

    Steps to create a new backup plan
    1. Click the add button add/plus button - gray - no border.

    2. In the Plan name field, enter a name for the backup plan.

    3. From the Storage list, select the storage location for the backups.

    4. Configure the backup plan retention and schedule by choosing one of the following options:

      Use pre-defined settings

      • Under Retention, select Standard retention to retain backups for 1 month.

      Create custom settings

      • Enable the Custom plan toggle.

      • For Retention, specify how long to keep backups (example: 30 days, 1 year).

      • For Backups run every, specify how frequently to run backups (example: daily, weekly).

    5. Click Done.

      The backup plan is created and appears in the backup plan list.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Under Network share configuration, enable NFS.

  11. Select the Access Nodes to use for backups.

    Note

    • By default, only those access nodes with both File System and MediaAgent packages installed are displayed.

    • If a client group is selected as an access node, ensure that each client in the group has connectivity to the array.

  12. By default, all NFS exports will be selected for backup. To change the content that is to be backed up, do the following:

    1. Under Backup content, disable All NFS exports.

    2. Enter the path to the NFS file share as the Custom path and click the add Managing File System Subclients (2) button.

  13. Click Add.
