Add a User-defined Subclient for CIFS Shares of Azure NetApp Files

Create user-defined subclients to organize CIFS shares of Azure NetApp Files into separate backup configurations.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

  2. On the Files tab, click on the Azure NetApp Files client.

  3. Under Protocols, click CIFS.

  4. On the Subclients tab, click Add subclient.

  5. In the Subclient name box, enter a name for the subclient.

  6. Click Next.

  7. From the Plan list, select the backup plan to assocaite with the subclient.

  8. Click Next.

  9. In the Content area, click Add, and then choose one of the following methods:

    • Browse: Select items from the file system.

    • Custom path: Enter one or more paths manually.

  10. In the Exclusions area, click Add, and then use Browse or Custom path to specify items to exclude.

  11. To create exceptions, enable Define exceptions, click Add, and then use Browse or Custom path to specify items to exempt from the exclusions.

    1. Click Browse.

    2. Enter the Interface path.

    3. Select an access node, and then click Browse.

    4. Select the required items, and then click Save.

    Custom path
    1. Enter a path or filter pattern in the Enter custom path field.

    2. Click the add button.

  12. From the Include global exclusions list, select one of the following:

    • Off: Applies only subclient exclusions. This option overrides the Use Global Filters on All Subclients setting.

    • On: Applies both global filters and subclient exclusions. This option overrides the Use Global Filters on All Subclients setting.

    • Use cell level policy: Applies global filters only if Use Global Filters on All Subclients is enabled in Global Filters.

  13. To access the data using pre-defined user credentials, in the Impersonation account field, click Edit and then select the user credentials or add new credentials by clearing the Saved credentials check box.

  14. Click Submit.
