For the NetApp Open Replication with SnapLock Enterprise and Tamperproof Support, you need to create a relationship.
Before You Begin
-
Review the considerations for open replication with SnapLock enterprise and tamperproof Support. For information, see Considerations.
-
Review the topologies for open replication with SnapLock enterprise and tamperproof Support.
Procedure for Creating relation with SnapLock Enterprise Support
Type the following commands on the destination storage virtual machine (that is, the Vserver).
-
Create a policy of type vault, using the following command:
snapmirror policy create -vserver $[SVM Name] -policy $[snapmirror policy name] -type$[vault]-tries $[8] -restart $[always] -
Add a rule with IntelliSnap label, retention period set to the least possible, and keep value to the maximum using the following command:
snapmirror policy add-rule -vserver $[SVM Name] -policy $[snapmirror policy name] -snapmirror-label$[IntelliSnap]-retention-period$[1hours]-keep$[1019] -
To create a SnapLock volume of type Enterprise, type the following command:
volume create -vserver $[SVM Name] -volume $[volume name] -type DP -aggregate $[aggregate name] -size $[size of volume] -snaplock-type$[enterprise] -
To set the SnapLock volume retention period, type the following command:
vol snaplock modify -vserver $[SVM Name] -volume $[volume name] -minimum-retention-period "$[minimum rention]" -default-retention-period "$[1 hours]" -maximum-retention-period "$[maximum retention]" -
To create SnapVault relationship, type the following command:
Ensure to use the same policy name that you have created in step 1.
snapmirror create -source-path $[Source SVM] -destination-path $[Destination SVM] -vserver $[SVM Name] -type $[XDP] -policy $[snapmirror policy name] -
To initialize the source and destination paths, type the following command:
snapmirror initialize -source-path $[Source SVM]:$[Source Volume] -destination-path $[Destination SVM]:$[Destination Volume]
Procedure for Creating relation with Tamperproof Support
Type the following commands on the destination storage virtual machine (that is, the Vserver).
-
Create a volume with snapshot locking enabled set to true using the following command:
volume create -vserver $[SVM Name] -volume $[volume name] -type $[DP] -aggregate $[aggregate name] -size $[size of volume] -snaplock-type $[non-snaplock] -snapshot-locking-enabled$[true] -
Create a relationship using any of the following policy type:
-
To create a SnapVault relationship with XDPDefault policy type, type the following command:
snapmirror create -source-path $[Source SVM] -destination-path $[Destination SVM] -vserver $[SVM Name] -type $[XDP] -policy$[XDPDefault] -
To create a SnapVault relationship with MirrorAndVault policy type, type the following command:
snapmirror create -source-path $[Source SVM] -destination-path $[Destination SVM] -vserver $[SVM Name] -type $[XDP] -policy$[MirrorAndVault]
-
-
To initialize the source and destination paths, type the following command:
snapmirror initialize -source-path $[Source SVM]:$[Source Volume] -destination-path $[Destination SVM]:$[Destination Volume]
