Preview Salesforce objects and records and their relationships before restoring to verify data selection and reduce unintended overwrites. Use the restore preview feature to simulate a Salesforce restore operation and understand how record relationships and dependencies are handled before you commit to an actual restore.
Note
The restore preview feature is available only when the restore target is Salesforce.
After the preview job completes successfully, you can view the results to analyze specific objects and records selected for the restore and understand how relationships and dependent objects were resolved based on your configured restore options.
You can review the preview data using a flat summary view and an advanced tree traversal view. You can also download the preview job results as a file to review the objects and records offline.
-
The flat summary view provides a list of all affected Salesforce objects alongside the total number of records that will be restored for each object.
-
The advanced tree traversal view provides a visual hierarchy for troubleshooting. You an use this view to explore parent-child relationships, and understand why specific records or related objects were included in the preview. You can navigate the hierarchy tree to granularly inspect the data grid and see how complex dependencies and related records are mapped and resolved.
After you validate the preview data, you can initiate a restore job using the Restore from preview option.
