You can restore an Microsoft Azure Database for PostgreSQL database instance to a different location (out-of-place). The instance restore is performed from the DumpBased backup set.
To recover only the data, perform the restore by using a full backup.
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

On the database Overview page, go to the Instances tab.

Click the instance you want to restore, then in the Recovery points tile, click Restore.
Alternatively, in the row for the instance, click the action button
, and then click Restore. -
On the Backup content page, do the following:

Select the data.
Note
Ensure that you have performed a successful backup on the selected date.

From the Database view list, select Database view.

Click View selection, and then from the Selected items dialog box, select a correct view.

Click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appears.
-
Select Out of place.
-
From the Restore type list, select one of the following:

Cross Instance Restore
-
Restore to Disk
-

If you select Cross Instance Restore, do the following:
-
From the Destination server list, select the destination server for the restore.

From the Destination instance list, select the destination instance for the restore.

In the Number of streams box, enter the number of data streams that you want to use for backups.

In the Define auxiliary database for dump restores section, do the following:
- In the Destination database box, you can specify the auxiliary database to restore the logical dump. Enter a different database auxiliary name to isolate the restore operation.

If you select Restore to Disk, do the following:

From the Destination client list, select the destination client for the restore.

In the Staging path box, enter a temporary directory used during restore operations.

Under Advanced options, do the following:

Under Pre or Post options, do the following:

In the Pre recovery command box, enter the name or path of the process to run before the restore.

In the Post recovery command box, enter the name or path of the process to run after the restore.

Select Run post restore process for all attempts to run post-restore process after each restore attempt.

If you want to initiate the restore as user, move the Run as User toggle button to right.
- In the User name box, enter a user name you want to run the restore with.

Under Data path, do the following:
- Optional: From the Select MediaAgent list, enter a media agent server name.

Select the Notify user on job completion to send a notification email when the restore job completes.

You can configure a schedule to repeat this restore operation. To create a schedule, do the following:

Click Schedule.
The Add schedule dialog box appears.

In the Name box, type a name for the schedule.

Configure the Frequency and Repeat parameters.

To specify exceptions to the schedule, click Exceptions.
The Exceptions dialog box appears.

Configure the exception parameters:

You can click Add Exception to save a set of exception parameters and continue adding sets of exception parameters.

Click Save when you have finished configuring the exception parameters.

Under the Range of recurrence section, specify the Start date and End date to schedule the recurrence range of the restore operation.

To save the schedule and return to the restore dialog box, click Schedule.

Click Submit.
