Run a MySQL Restore Operation

You can restore the entire backed up instance from a default database group to either the same instance or a different instance on the source server. You can also restore the instance to a different destination server.

For information about running the restore operation for the entire instance, see Restoring One or More Databases.

Note

  • During a restore operation, data directory of the destination MySQL server is overwritten. The data is not staged at any location.

  • MySQL Enterprise backup version 4.1.2 or above is needed for partial restores and Restore to Disk operation.

  • If the No lock option is enabled with MySQL enterprise backup, use a data restore. Log restores are not recommended because binlogs are skipped when No lock is enabled.
