AWS Outposts API limitations prevent the Virtual Server package from protecting Amazon EC2 instances on AWS Outposts. You can still protect those workloads by installing in-guest packages directly on the instances:

To protect application data and operating system files, use file server packages.

To protect application databases, use database packages.

To protect EC2 instances outside AWS Outposts using the Virtual Server package, see Amazon EC2.
Limitations
If AWS Outposts is provisioned with Amazon S3 and the Amazon EBS Local Snapshots feature is enabled, backup operations can fail.
