To configure the Network Share IntelliSnap Backup for CIFS shares via client computer, add a NAS client and network share, then configure array host aliases, and then create the subclient to back up your data.
Procedure
-
For the Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale storage array, do the following:
-
If you want to use CIFS shares from non-default access zones, configure the Access Zone snapshot configuration property.
-
For optimal usage of all the nodes in the Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale cluster for CIFS share backups, you must configure appropriate number of data readers (streams) on the access nodes at the subclient level. For more information, see Optimal Utilization of Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale Nodes to Backup CIFS Shares.
-
-
For the NetApp storage array, if you have a storage virtual machine (SVM) CIFS path through a containing cluster, you must use tunneling. For more information, see Tunneling the vServer through a Cluster Client.
-
Optional: If you want to set up a proxy computer, see Proxy Computers for Network Share IntelliSnap Backup.
