No Email Received or Reports Do Not Appear After CommCell Registration

After registering a CommCell environment, you do not receive an email with your user name and password for the Cloud Services website, or you receive an email, but you cannot view reports. This might happen if CommServe computers in your environment do not have a direct connection to the Internet and you have not configured Internet gateway settings, or if you have not set up an HTTP Proxy Server.

Symptoms

  • The registration request fails with error 12007, 12019, 12029, or 12045. These errors appear in the CommServSurveyUtility.log file.

  • After registering the CommCell environment, you do not receive an email that contains a user name and password for the Cloud Services website.

  • You received the email that contains a user name and password for the Cloud Services website, but reports do not appear when you log on to Cloud Services.

Causes

  • If you don't receive an email, the CommServe computer might not be connected to the Internet.

  • If the CommCell registration request fails, you might not have configured Internet gateway settings or an HTTP Proxy Server for Commvault services. You must configure these settings on the CommServe computer, the Internet gateway computer, or the HTTP Proxy Server.

  • If you receive an email, but reports do not appear, other computers in your CommCell environment might not be connected to the Internet.

Resolution

The CommServe computer must be able to download from https://edc.commvault.com/downloads/SQLScripts/ and upload to https://edc.commvault.com/httplogupload/ using port 443.
