Setting the Reservation Type for SCSI 2

To use lin_tape with SCSI 2 reservation type, set the reservation type for SCSI 2.

Procedure

1. For RHEL, remove the lin_tape.conf from the /etc/modprobe.d location or you can delete the following parameter from the .conf file:

   options lin_tape tape_reserve_type=persistent
   

2. On the MediaAgent, set the nReadWriteTestNoScsi3Reservation additional setting to 1. For more information on creating the additional setting, see Add or Modify an Additional Setting.

3. Configure the library as described in Understanding SCSI Mappings in the Expert Storage Configuration.
