VMW0077: Floppy and CD drive of a virtual machine connect to a different datastore after an out-of-place restore (VMware)

Symptom

You are performing an out-of-place restore of a virtual machine and you specify a different datastore during the restore. After the restore completes, the floppy and CD drive of the virtual machine still connect to the original datastore.

Resolution

1. Log in to the vCenter using vSphere client.

2. Edit settings of the virtual machine.

3. Specify the new datastore for the floppy and CD drive in the Virtual Machine Properties dialog box.
