Configuring Auto-Scaling for Google Cloud Storage Access Nodes

Configuring auto-scaling for Google Cloud Storage includes creating a scaling profile and assigning the server group to Google Cloud Storage instances.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure the server group includes at least one permanent node with the Cloud Apps package installed.

  • If you plan to use an elastic plan, configure the workload region at the server group details.

Create a Scaling Profile

For information about creating a scaling profile, see Create a scaling profile for Google Cloud.

Multi-tenant environments

In multi-tenant environments:

  • Service providers can offer auto-scaling with a scaling profile as a service.
  • Tenants can either use their service providers' scaling profile configuration or configure their own scaling profile.

Associate Scale Profile Client to Server Group

Associate the scale profile client to the server group. For more information, see Associate scale profile client to server group.

Assign the Server Group to Google Cloud Storage Instances

When configuring a Google Cloud Storage instance, select the scaling profile's server group as the access node.

For Google Cloud Storage instance configuration, see Add an Object Storage Repository for Google Cloud.
