Configuring a MySQL Database Group on a Linux Client to Run Backups Using Percona XtraBackup

You can configure a MySQL database group to use Percona XtraBackup for backups of the whole MySQL instance.

Before You Begin

• Configure a MySQL database instance using the XtraBackup utility.

• Ensure that Block-Level, IntelliSnap, MySQL Enterprise Backup and Standby options are disabled.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The database Overview tab appears.

2. On the Instances tab, click an instance.

   The instance Overview tab appears.

3. On the Database groups tab, select a database group that you want to configure to use the XtraBackup utility.

4. On the Overview tab, in the General section, move the Full instance XtraBackup toggle key to the right.
