Modify settings for an SAP IQ (Sybase IQ) instance

After you add an SAP IQ configuration, you can modify its settings to change the backup plan, update connection details, exclude the instance from SLA, configure a new subclient, or deconfigure the instance.

Go to the SAP IQ configuration

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > AI & Analytics.

  2. Locate the SAP IQ instance and click the instance name.

Configure instance-specific settings

These settings are used in specific scenarios and aren't required for most environments.

Connection details

Update the SAP IQ database connection details if the server hostname, port, database name, or engine name changes:

  • ODBC connection string: DSN name or connection string prefix.

  • Database username: SAP IQ database user with BACKUP privilege.

  • Database password: Password for the database user.

  • Custom properties: Update iqDir, engineName, host, port, database, or utilSuPassword as needed.

Backup plan

Select a different backup plan to change the backup schedule or storage destination. The new plan applies to all subclients under this instance unless a subclient has its own plan assigned.

Exclude from SLA calculations

Enable this option to exclude the instance from SLA compliance reporting. This is useful for test or development instances that don't require SLA monitoring.

Subclients

To create a new subclient for a different database, or to modify an existing subclient, see Modify settings for an SAP IQ (Sybase IQ) subclient.

Deconfigure

Remove the SAP IQ instance from Commvault protection. Deconfiguring the instance stops all backups and removes the configuration, but does not delete existing backup data.

Save changes

  1. Review your changes.

  2. Click Save.

Changes to the backup plan take effect with the next scheduled backup. Changes to connection details take effect immediately for the next backup or restore operation.
