Restore Pure Storage FlashArray File NFS exports from backups. You can restore the entire export or specific files and folders. You can also restore data from snapshots by mounting the snapshot.
Procedure
To restore the entire NFS export or specific files and folders to the original location, use the in-place restore option.

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

On the Files tab, click the Pure Storage FlashArray File server.

Under Protocols, click NFS.
-
On the Subclients tab, select the backup set.

Select the Recovery points.
-
Click Restore.
-
Select the content to restore:
-
To restore all the files in a folder, select the checkbox for the folder.

To restore only some files, expand the folder, and then select the files.

Click Restore.
-
Select Restore to original folder.

The Use optimal number of restore streams toggle is enabled, by default. With this, an optimal number of restore streams are automatically used based on the size of the data that you have selected for restore. To configure the number of restore streams manually, move the toggle to the left and enter the number of streams.

To replace the existing files, select Unconditionally overwrite if it already exists.

Click Submit.
To restore the entire NFS export or specific files and folders to a different location, use the out-of-place restore option.

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

On the Files tab, click the Pure Storage FlashArray File server.

On the Subclients tab, click the subclient.
-
In the Recovery points tile, click the date of the backup to restore.

Click Restore.
-
Select the content to restore:
-
To restore all the files in a folder, select the checkbox for the folder.

To restore only some files, expand the folder, and then select the files.

Click Restore.
-
Clear Restore to original folder.
-
Select the target client or the cloud storage client from the Destination list.

Click Browse and enter the restore destination path.
The browse options vary depending on the restore destination.

Enable Impersonate user and provide credentials, if the restore destination is a UNC path.

Restore files and folders directly from a snapshot by selecting Primary Snap as the restore source.

In the Recovery points tile, click the date of the backup to restore.

Click Restore.
-
Click Change source.
-
From the Restore from copy list, select Primary snap.

Select the content to restore:

To restore all the files in a folder, select the checkbox for the folder.

To restore only some files, expand the folder, and then select the files.

Click Restore.

Select Restore to original folder or specify an out-of-place restore destination.

Click Browse and enter the restore destination path.
