Restoring Messages Out of Place in Exchange Mailbox User Mailbox On-Premises Environment

You can restore messages out of place, to another User Mailbox (on-premises) or a specific folder. You can restore one message, multiple messages, and deleted items.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Exchange.

    The Exchange Overview page appears.

  2. On the Self-service dashboard, in the Exchange section, click Restore.

    The message selection page appears.

  3. From the email list, select the messages that you want to restore.

  4. At the top of the page, click Restore.

    The Restore Options dialog box appears.

  5. Under Exchange account, select Restore the data to another location, configure the required options, and then click Next.

    • Mailbox: Will auto-populate based on the item for restore.

    • Folder: Select a folder you wish to restore to and then click Select.

  6. Configure any of the following options, and then click Next.

    • If the message exists:

      • Skip: To skip restoring any message that is already in your User Mailbox (on-premises), under, select this option.

      • Unconditionally overwrite: To overwrite any message that is already in your User Mailbox (on-premises), select this option.

      • Include deleted items: To include any messages that were deleted from your User Mailbox (on-premises), select this option.

  7. On the Review page, check your selections, and then click Submit.

    The Summary page appears.

  8. Click Close.
