Configuring the Active/Active Asynchronous Replication Feature for the Pure Storage Storage Array

For you to use the Active/Active Asynchronous replication configuration, you must perform various configurations in the Commvault software.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the CommCell Console.

  2. Add the three arrays in the Active/Active Asynchronous replication configuration in Array Management.

For instructions, see Setting Up the Pure Storage Array Using Array Management.

  3. To turn POD tracking on for the arrays in ActiveCluster configuration, clear the Do not track Pod volume secondary snapshots snapshot configuration property for both the arrays.

For instructions, see Editing the Properties of the Pure Storage FlashArray Array.

  4. To create a snapshot primary copy of the snapshots on both the arrays in ActiveCluster configuration, create a storage policy and a snapshot copy on that storage policy.

  5. To create the replication relationship between arrays in the ActiveCluster configuration and the replication target array. You must configure the IP address of the replication target array in the IP address or array name of the target array for replication property of both the arrays in the ActiveCluster configuration in the Array Management.

For instructions, see Creating the Replication Relationship Between Source and Target Arrays.

  6. Create a replica copy for the snapshot primary copy.

  7. Associate the replica copy to the subclients whose snapshots you want to replicate.

For instructions, see Associating the Replica Copy to Subclients.

  8. Associate both the source arrays in the POD with an array access node. For instructions, see Configuring Array Access Nodes for a Storage Array.

    Note

The array access node must be able to communicate with the source and replication target arrays using REST API.
