Replacing an Access Node for NAS File Servers

To replace an existing access node with a new access node, you must follow a specific procedure.

Caution

The following procedure prevents all files from being backed up by not directly replacing the existing access node with the new access node.

Procedure

  1. Without removing the existing access node, add the new access node as a secondary node.

The existing access node is the primary node, and the new access node is the secondary node.

  2. Perform an archive operation on both access nodes.

At this point, the new access node does not have a job results directory for the subclient.

  3. Make the new access node the primary node, and the existing access node the secondary node.

  4. Perform an archive operation on both access nodes.

  5. After the archive operation completes, remove the existing access node.

At this point, the new access node has a job results directory for the subclient.
